Mag Launch Countdown Giveaway #4

It's a two-way Giveaway #4!
Yes, it's true. We are so excited about the imminent arrival of the latest Flea Market Style that have whipped ourselves into a frenzy of generosity (you knew we were the big-hearted types, all along!).

So today, you get not one, but two chances to win. First up: a $50 Gift Certificate to Rue de la Paix Hats online store.
Indulge your yen for antique hats and millinery trims, vintage fashions and more! Once your head (gear) is in the game...

...check out the Beautiful YoYo Pillow from Remixed Stitches!

Valued at $38, this Yo Yo pillow is hand made from 100% unbleached Drill cotton, appliqued with a piece from a vintage Yo Yo quilt. (Fun fact: The Yo Yo quilt was a popular quilt-making style from the 1920s to 1940s. A Yo Yo is a small piece of fabric that is gathered and hand sewn into a dimensional circle. The circles are then sewn together to form a three-dimensional quilt.)

And what is required of you to enter for these two great giveaways? Less than you would expect! Just leave a comment at the end of this post by 8 p.m. Central Standard Time on Saturday, Jan. 29!

And leave the rest to us!

Speaking of winners, we've got one! Congratulations to Margo (not FMS team member, but a different Margo), winner of the Royal Crown Cake Stand from French Bleu Vintage!

Two winners will be chosen by random number generator. If we are unable to contact any winner, another will be chosen within 5 working days.

Guest post: New space from old stuff

I love to use vintage items for storage.

Our home has vintage items all over that serve a double purpose. They look great and they usually hide or hold something nice.

My studio is lacking in space so I store (hide is more like it) many of the art supplies I need on a daily basis in vintage suitcases.

Every one of these suitcases is full of either magazines, business receipts, paints, vintage papers, etc.

Another favorite for convenient "storage" is my collection of vintage ladders.

I have them throughout the house.

I love all of the uses you can come up with for ladders.
I use one next to our couch to hold quilts to make them easily accessible for the children.

I also have two in my studio. They hold product before it goes out and I have nails all over another that holds my original art before it is sold.

One of the easiest ways to use vintage for storage is a toolbox.

I have a few that hold art supplies, vintage bits and even books in our living room.

A tarnished silver pitcher that belonged to my mom holds our television remotes.

All of our family games are stored in an old trunk and the dishtowels next to my sink rest in a vintage bowl.
There are so many ways you can incorporate vintage items into your home for storage.

What are some of your favorite vintage storage ideas?
