Ugly Lamp Contest Fun!

Remember those 1o great Ugly Lamps from the spring issue of Flea Market Style? They took a road trip last week to the Junk Bonanza in Shakopee, Minn.!

They starred in an Ugly Lamp Contest! Don't you love the Vote Here lampshade? It was designed by Tieran Haskin of Olive & Company, the Bonanza's go-to shop for graphics and design!

Attendees voted during the three-day event!
Do you know which one you would pick?

The owl won it handily!

Check out the Junk Bonanza Blog for more on the ugly lamps, including the name of the, er, lucky winner!

Ewwwww...owl decor. I remember buying my Mom a set of white alabaster owl figurines with red jewel eyes for Christmas back in the 70's.

If that owl lamp was painted white and had a new burlap shade, it would be so adorable. andrea@townandprairie

I love the owl lamp. Agree with another poster that it should be painted white and then add burlap shade. I think the blue lamp should have won "ugly" award.

What a hoot (pun not intended, but there it is)! I flagged the ugly/cool lamps page in the magazine because my mother-in-law has an owl lamp just like that one. Little does she know that this is considered retro-cool now! In her mind it's a perfectly good lamp that still works just fine.

I JUST bought an ugly lamp and thought of this article! It is a large kitchen scale with a lamp arm attached. So random!

I love the owl lamp it is completely tack-a-liscious (in a good way). I know many a hipster that would kick a kitten to put those owls in their digs. Fun contest! My mom (who was here so we could go to the Roundtop/Warrington Flea market outside of Austin) brought your magazine to my house and I fell in love with those suitcase shelves.
