Singin' and Dancin' in Des Moines

Stacey Willey, Art director extraordinaire and Rock Star photographer, Adam Albright

Des Moines was the location of our most recent photo shoot. Don Short with West End Salvage was kind enough to allow us use his amazing warehouse as a backdrop. We located a great area on 3rd floor to shoot ideas and projects. It was virtually impossible not to get sidetracked by all the cool antiques, architectural salvage and junk around us.

We had two new assistants to make sure things ran smoothly. Assistant number 1 was in charge of the music. High School musical kept us dancin' and singin' while we worked. Assistant number 2 was in charge of the twine ball. (As you may know, twine balls need constant winding and unwinding.) Thanks guys.

Breaks consisted of catching up on emails and texting loved ones. Thank goodness for cell service.

Adam made every project look like a star. Favorite shots? A chair, a collar, and a baking pan.
Curious? February will be here sooner than you think!

Cheers,
Ki

Decorating for Fall, Guest Blogger Post

Happy Autumn! I would love to show you how I decorate for Fall with some of my favorite flea market finds!

Pumpkins certainly have a place when it comes to Fall decorating, but you can achieve a beautiful look spending no money at all by just gathering up a few key flea market treasures from around your home.

Bits of nature from your own yard complete the look. Here's what I did...

This old, rusty birdcage is one of my very favorite flea market finds...with candles placed inside it, it makes the perfect centerpiece.

I have a collection of petite white pitchers which I love to use both on their own and filled with flowers. As the garden begins to slow down in the Fall, and flowers are not as abundant, these darling pitchers are perfect for holding small bunches of whatever you still have blooming and readily available...

And don't forget those wonderful vintage books you can scoop up at any flea market for a bargain...they come in handy in so many decorating situations. Their aged and weathered appearance add beauty to any vignette...

So hit the backyard and then gather up your favorite flea market treasures and create a fresh seasonal look that works for your own home! Happy decorating!!
